Saudi authorities have announced temporary travel restrictions during the upcoming Hajj season. Travelers entering the Kingdom with a Saudi tourist eVisa will not be allowed to perform Umrah, participate in Hajj, or stay in the city of Makkah between 18 April and 31 May, 2026.
The restriction applies to both Muslim and non-Muslim travelers holding tourist visas. During this period, access to Makkah will be limited to pilgrims who have official Hajj permits or approved pilgrimage visas.
The measure is part of Saudi Arabia’s annual preparations to manage the large number of pilgrims expected to arrive for Hajj. Authorities implement these rules each year to maintain safety, crowd control, and smooth operations during the pilgrimage.
Tourists visiting Saudi Arabia during this time can still travel to other cities such as Riyadh, Jeddah, and AlUla, but entry into Makkah will remain restricted until the end of May.
